First Annual NJ Biotechnology Educators Consortium Conference
The inaugural conference of the New Jersey Biotechnology Educators Consortium (NJBEC) will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Monmouth University.  The program will include a keynote address by Dr. Elaine Johnson, Director  of the Bio-Link National Center, presentations on biotechnology programs in NJ, and breakout sessions in areas such as genomics, bioinformatics and stem cell biology that will provide faculty with ideas for classroom teaching activities.  There is no  charge for the conference and registration will soon be available through the Bio-1 website (www.bio-one.org).  For more information please contact NJBEC Director Dr. Michael Palladino (mpalladi@monmouth.edu).

Thursday, September 25th, 2008, from 12 pm to 4:30 pm: Rutgers Second Annual Corporate Computing Day at the Busch Campus Center.  The Corporate Computing Day showcases the ongoing computing research and outreach activities at Rutgers through poster board sessions, invited speakers, corporate displays, and interactions with students & faculty. The keynote address this year will be given by Dr. Randal Pinkett, Chairman and CEO of BCT Partners, Rutgers Alumnus and winner of NBC’s hit reality TV show, “The Apprentice,” with Donald Trump.
