Next Big Wave of Opportunity Discussed at Green Ventures Symposium

On May 2 the institute for Sustainable Enterprises at Fairleigh Dickinson, North Jersey WIRED, New Jersey Institute of Technology and other partners held the first annual Green Ventures Symposium and Expo.  The program was built around the model of a NCIIA Invention to Venture workshop, designed to foster entrepreneurship and bring together the academic community and the business world to address the next big wave of opportunity which is being opened up by the need for clean energy, for alternative transportation, for waste reduction, and for sustainable development in every industry and region in the nation and in the global marketplace.

The meeting was very successful, providing the opportunity for close to 200 people to share information and connect with each other to better prepare to launch and grow sustainable businesses. The Honorable Assemlyman Upendra Chivukula, Deputy Speaker of the NJ Assembly, Adam Zellner the Director of Policy of Office of Governor Jon S. Corzine and Mayor Fred R. Profeta Jr., Maplewood Township provided perspectives on New jersey's response to global warming and the emerging green technology revolution.
