Invitation to DOL Biotech Partners Group meeting through Life Science Career Alliance On Monday, May 19, 2008 the DOL Biotech Partners Group successfully completed another phase in the development of an industry driven skill-based curriculum and certificate model for the tri-state region. A design team made up of educators and industry representatives have been working extremely hard to map out how each certificate model/course training module will be designed. The team completed:
Our thanks go out to all of our college partners and industry leaders for offering their valuable time, input, and critical knowledge to move us to this phase of the grant. Special thanks goes out to our industry leaders from Tengion, Centocor, gsk, DuPont, ImClone, and Strategic Diagnostics for their foundational core competency knowledge, incumbent worker feedback, and curriculum design support. On June 11, 2008 the heavy lifting begins but we need more Industry (large & small) at the table to complete this phase. We invite you and your biotechnology industry colleagues to join us… JUNE 11, 2008 - SAVE THIS DATE To prepare for the work ahead, on June 11, 2008 all industry and education partners are encouraged to participate in the next phase of the grant process. The meeting will address:
Most of you are aware that this training grant will not only help create a pipeline of highly trained/skilled students and incumbent workers but it will also provide an educational network so that industry can expand their recruiting efforts regionally and retain incumbent workers through a continuous education program. Lastly, it will establish a tri-state alliance on how education and training programs are created to improve workforce training, education, and the economic development system. Your attendance is paramount toward “The Next Steps” to building an industry driven, educational and training program for the tri-state region. Please RSVP to Adina Laver (adlaver@aol.com) or James Logan (jlogan@lscalliance.org) no later than June 9, 2008. If you have questions, please either email James or call him at 215-717-2022. |
