Newsmakers from the Bio-1 Community

Debbie Hart, President of BioNJ was joined by some of the BioNJ team, member companies, and others, as she rang the opening NASDAQ bell on January 15th.  NASDAQ's invitation to BioNJ is an affirmation of the financial community's continuing involvement with the biotechnology community.  For anyone who didn't get to see it, here's the video!

Debbie followed up that exciting milestone by attending the New York City movie premiere of Extraordinary Measures, which chronicles the triumph of Amicus President and CEO John Crowley and his family in finding a treatment for his children's life threatening disease.  The movie and media coverage will bring more positive recognition for the NJ bioscience industry.

Excerpted from David Finegold's update to the School of Management and Labor Relations:

The new Master of Business and Science degree continues to receive good press coverage. Beth Fitzgerald, reporter at NJ Biz, discussed the new degree in an article “New degree program puts focus on business, science”, and Nanotechnology Now published an article entitled “Master of Business and Science Degree at Rutgers.”  Within the University, the program was featured in Rutgers Today and The Daily Targum:  http://www.dailytargum.com/university/business-and-sciences-unite-in-new-master-s-program-1.2141355.  The media attention has helped attract a number of new prospective students that are interested.  Applications are currently being accepted for Fall 2010.  We invite you to view their brand new website at: http://psm.rutgers.edu.  If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact the MBS office at: (732) 445-5117 or psminfo@dceo.rutgers.edu.
